Where the book began · Est. 2012
For over twelve years, the TGAE archive has been a quiet, persistent record of a loud place. Not the headlines. Not the spectacle. The light on a tailor's hands at dusk. The geometry of three danfos at a junction. The dignity of a Sunday morning.
What began as one person looking became a community of tens of thousands looking together. From that looking, this body of work was born — and from that body of work, Japada took shape: the prints you can hold, the gallery being built in Ibadan, the book in your hands, the table you're invited to.
